ayyo kiddo

sat in on a lesson in uitgeest for part of my commission over here (the photos shown here are not for the commission however, i just loved photographing dees kiddies). made me remember what elementary school was/is like. these kids were so hilar and of course i couldn't understand a word of anything so it's a good thing faces are universal!!!!

coming home from da supermarket in amersfoort (lyke i have to repeat that hahaha). those are some homies who asked to have their photos taken and then chronically farted the whole 15 seconds i took their photos hahahahhaa (in the last one, he is going 'wow was that you?? hahahahhaha) ze dutch are funny. having a gr8 time.

the first, inspired by all the beautiful churches and religious artwork there is here in europe, and the second, the view from my hotel room window and who i have been listening to religiously.

i've been in utrecht a week now, papa left today. i am by myself...in a foreign country...the independence is a bit overwhelming... i was pretty uneasy this morning, until i sat down in a park and some kids started playing in a fountain and included me in their game. they were about 10 or so, and one of them cut his finger. i remembered i had a bandaid and i helped him put it on, and i dunno, it just felt nice to connect with someone even if it was a small connection and a small conversation and a small interaction.

i am leaving in the morning to stay in the netherlands til august. thought i would post bits and pieces of some nice memories from the past couple weeks. thank you for the best 2 weeks of summer i've probably ever had, portland. gonna miss u.
